Every pro sports league has found the value in cross-conference play. Baseball, one of our oldest games, has expanded the matchups between the NL and the AL. The USL has expanded on this exact same route. That's how we get a first ever matchup between Oakland Roots and Indy 11.
Both sides came into the matchup playing great soccer. Good results were in hand in both League and Cup play. Indy were a group that aimed to dominate possession. Oakland wasn't going to let that happen. Roots came out with a brilliant gameplan of consistently pressing where needed and finding cracks behind the Indy defense.
As we worked the Oakland road call, it turned out to be a blast of a match.
