From the moment the schedule came out, there was not a question about it. The FIU Panthers came into the CUSA schedule with a completely reworked roster ready to launch. The Marshall Thundering Herd were the reigning national champions.
And so the folks in charge set up a regular season title game in the final game of the year before the tournaments start. The match lived up to the billing. Both teams were incredible, with non-stop energy from the crowd. Everyone understood the stakes from the very first.
The match turned into a dream for the Panthers. And the great production crew at FIU made an amazing video to sum up the action:
