It had been a tough weekend for the FIU Softball team. Western Kentucky came into town and took the first three games of Senior Weekend, a couple in really commanding fashion. So the already short pitching rotation for the Panthers was completely exhausted.
So FIU opened with a freshman who was playing well but didn't have a great deal of experience. On the other side, Western Kentucky and their conference leading batting average pounced. FIU understood the importance of this game, and made a quick change in the circle before an out was even recorded. It was Kallie Jones who came into a nearly impossible spot , and was simply incredible. She led the way in what was a very fun Sunday finale for the FIU softball team.
